Indications

• Treatment  and prevention of osteoporosis in postmenopausal women.
• Treatment to increase bone mass in men with osteoporosis.
• Treatment of glucocorticoid-induced osteoporosis in men and women receiving glucocorticoids.
• Treatment of paget’s disease of bone in men and women.

Dosage and Administration

• Treatment  and prevention of osteoporosis in postmenopausal women.
• Treatment to increase bone mass in men with osteoporosis.
• Treatment of glucocorticoid-induced osteoporosis in men and women receiving glucocorticoids.
• The recommended dosage is one 10mg tablet once daily.
• Treatment of paget’s disease of bone in men and women.

The recommended trearment regimen is 40mg once a day for six months.
Drate must be taken at least one-half hour before the first food,beverage  or medication of the day with plain water only.Other beverages (including mineral water), food and some medications are likely to reduce the absorption of alendronate sodium.
To facilitate delivery to the stomach and thus reduce the potential for esophageal irritation, Drate should only be swallowed upon arising for the day with a full glass of water and patients should not lie down for at least 3minutes and until their food of the day.Drate should not be taken at bedtime or before arising for the day.Failure to follow these instructions may increase the risk of esophageal adverse experiences.

Pegnancy and Nursing mothers
Drate has not been studied in pregnant and breast-feeding women and should not be given to
them.
Pediatric Use
Drate has not been studied in children.
Use In the Elderly
In clinical studies, there was no age-related differences in the efficacy or safety profiles of alendronate sodium(Drate).

Presentation
Drate 10mg is supplied in 10tablets pack.Each tablet contains alendronate sodium U.S.P equivalent to 10mg alendronic acid.

Store below 30·C.
