Indications
Peripheral neuropathies such as diabetic neuropathy and polyneuritis,megaloblastic anemia due to vitamin B12 deficiency.

Dosage and Administration
Neuropathies:   The usual adult dose is one ampoule (500µg Mecobalamin), administered intramuscularly or intravenously once a day at the frequency of three times a week.
For the treatment of megaloblastic anaemia: Usual adult daily dose is 1 ampoule (500µg Mecobalamin) intramuscularly or intravenously once a day at the frequency of three times a week.After 2months of medication the dose should be reduced to a single administration of one ampoule at 1 to 3months of interval for the maintenance therapy.The dosage may be increased  or decreased according to the age of patients and the severity of symptoms.The ususal adult dosage for oral use is 3tablets(1500µg Mecobalamin)daily in three divided doses.

Storage and Handling
As mecobalamin is unstable to light,its exposure should be protected/avoided.This is the reason Cobolmin  injections and tablets are provided in special heat and light resistant pack to prevent a change in quality during storage.Care should be exercised to removevan individual ampoule from the package and it should only be removed just before use.
