Indications
Intramuscular;
Where oral therapy is not feasible or is temporarily undesirable in the judgement of the physician,K-Kort is indicated for intramuscular use as follows:
Endocrine disorders: Nonsuppurative thyroiditis.
Rheumatic disorders: As adjunctive therapy for short  term administration in post-traumatic osteoarthritis;synovitis of osteoarthritis; rheumatoid arthritis; acute and subacute bursitis; epicondylitis;acute non-specific tenosynovitis; acute gouty arthritis; prankylosing spondylitis; juvenile rheumatoid arthritis.
Collagen diseases: During an exacerbation or as maintenance therapy in selected cases of systemic lupus erythematosus; acute rheumatic carditis.
Dermatologic diseases: Pemphigus: severe erythema multiforme(Stevens-Johnson syndrome);exfoliative dermatitis; bullous dermatitis herpetiforms; severe seborrheic dermatitis; severe psoriasis.
Allergic states: Control of severe or incapacitating allergic conditions intractable to adequate trials of conventional treatment in: bronchial asthma; contact dermatitis; seasonal or perennial allergic rhinitis.
Ophthalmic diseases: Severe chronic allergic and inflammatory processes involving the eye,such as: herpes zoster ophthalmicus; iritis;iridocyclitis: chorioretinitis; diffuse posterior uveitis and choroiditis;opticneuritis; sympathetic ophthalmia; anterior segment inflammation.
Gastrointestinal diseases: Critical phase requiring systemic therapy in ulcerative colitis regional enteritis.
Respiratory diseases:  Symptomatic sarcoidosis: berylliosis; aspiration pneumonitis.
Hematologic diseases: Acquired(autoimmune) hemolytic anemia
Neoplastic disorders: For palliative management of leukemias and lymphomas in adults:acute leukemia of childhood
Edema: To  induce diuresis or remission of proteinuria in the nephrotic syndrome without uremia of the idiopathic type or that due to lupus erythematosus.
Intra-Articular
K-Kort is indicated for Intra-articular or intra bursal administration and for injection into tendon sheaths,as adjunctive therapy for short-term administration in the following coditions: synovitis of osteoarthritis; rheumatoid arthritis; acute and subacute bursitis; acute gouty arthritis; epicondylitis;acute non-specific tenosynovitis; posttraumatic osteoarthritis.
Intravitreal use
Intravitreal (4mg in 0.1ml) Triamcinolone acetonide is promising treatment of diabetic macular oedema.
Warnings
K-Kort Injection,it should not be administered intravenously.

Dosage
General
The Initial dose of K-Kort may vary from 2.5 to 60mg per day depending on the specific diseases entity being treated. In less severe conditions,lower doses generally suffice,while in other patients,higher intial doses may be required.Usually the parenteral dosage range is one-third to one-half the oral dose,given every 12hours in life-threatening situations,administration of higher dosages may be justified.

Dosage
Systemic
Adults and children over 12years or age: the initial dose is 60mg.Injected deeply into the gluteal muscle.Atrophy of subcutaneous fat may occur if the injection is knot properly given.Dosage is usually adjusted within the range of 40 to 80mg,depending upon patient response and duration of relief.However,some patients may be well controlled on doses as low as 20mg or less.
Children 6 to 12years;the suggested intial dose is 40mg,although dosage  depends more on the severity of symptoms than on age or weight.
Local
Intra-articular or intra bursal administration and for injection into tendon sheaths: A single local injection of Triamcinolone acetonide is frequently sufficient,but several injections may be needed for adequate relief of symptoms.
Initial dose: 2.5 to 5mg for smaller joints and from 5 to 15mg for large joints,depending on the specific diseases entity being treated.For adults,doses up to 10mg for smaller areas and up to 40mg for larger areas have usually been sufficient.Single injections into several joints,up to a total of 80mg,have been given.
Presentation
K-Kort is supplied in a glass vial as 1ml which contains 40mg of Triamcinolone acetonide in a sterile aqueous suspension.

Storage
Store at 15’C-30’C avoid from freezing and protect from light.
